Abstract

On one of the panels of the recent exhibition, Videojuegos. Los dos lados de la pantalla(Fundación Telefónica, 2019), it could be read that "the video game is embedded in many areas, generating a high impact on culture". As a visual expression of modernity, one of its concerns is not only to entertain the general public, but also to be an instrument of awareness and manifestation of the problems of the society in which it is born. Throughout this text, and based on the analysis of the work Emporium(2017), we want to show how loneliness, suicide and estrangementbecome visible through narratives that reveal the most intimate concerns of human beings, born on this occasion from the personal tragedy suffered by the author. Small works, nolonger than 45 minutes, melodic combinations of images and text, in which some of the main concerns of contemporary life, such as suicide, appear as brief introspective brushstrokes
