Resumen

Los lugares de culto constituyen patrimonio de la cultura, el testimonio material de los valores de la civilización. La destrucción del patrimonio suele obedecer a una particular guerra de religiones, de fobias que se perpetran en la destrucción de lugares sagrados, el odio con violencia. Este tipo de terrorismo exige educación y diálogo intercultural para su prevención. Se requiere una protección nacional e internacional de los lugares de culto y de todos los bienes y tierras sagradas, tal y como se constata en la violencia y destrucción en países a lo largo y ancho del mundo. Este trabajo demuestra que no siempre se trata de una oscura relación entre crimen y religión sino de la política estatal en materia religiosa, de una violación sistemática de la libertad religiosa y de culto que puede ser terrorismo de Estado.
