Résumé
This paper describes the epithermal vein-type Ba-F-(Pb-Zn-Cu-[Ag]) deposits of the Guadarrama Mountains (Spain). The hydrothermal alteration and mineralization display a zoning pattern including the following assemblages (from the flanks of the vein toward the “fresh” granitic country rock): silicification, quartz-sericite (± smectite), and propilytic alteration. Adularization occurs toward the bottom of the system. Ba, Ag and the alteration envelope increase toward the top of the vein system, while F increases toward the bottom. The genesis of these epithermal type deposits may be related to either late Hercynian or Triassic magmatic events.
