Resum

We considered it to be of scientific interest to study the nature of the Erasmus Program within the framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Our main goal is to analyze in detail both the acquisition of intercultural communicative competence and the interactive use of the Internet by German and Spanish Erasmus students before and during their stay in a foreign country. We applied a multimethod study (or mixed method study) based on both quantitative and qualitative approaches and developed two main data-collection techniques : the questionnarie and the discussion forum. The sample group participating in our research are German and Spanish Erasmus students, who studied abroad during the academic year 2009/2010 at the following German and Spanish. The data analysis and conclusions of our research provide important information of a descriptive nature about the current situation of foreign language learning and about the use of the internet within the EHEA.
