Abstract
This Article aims two objectives. In the first place, a state of the art regarding regarding the studies that have tried to link Ortega to the pragmatism of William James. Secondly, a hypothesis will be stablished : the scarcity of these studies may be underpinned in a prejudice regarding the pragmatist. That prejudice would have Schelerian origin and Ortega himself would have joined it.
