Resumo

Climate change affects and is affected by global water resources. The conceptual framework on water security is the starting point for this work. Next, the chapters corresponding to the hydrology and water resources contained in the different reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are analyzed, some important aspects contained in the 2020 United Nations world report on water and climate change in the context of sustainable development are studied, and the adaptation approach based on the development of ecosystem services is presented. In this work, elements of mitigation, impacts, vulnerability and adaptation are considered. The work continues presenting the fundamental results of an important work of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Union on climate impacts related to water resources
