Abstract

The geological, geochemical and metallogenic features of CenicientosCadalso de los Vidrios baryte mineralization (Sistema Central) are studied in this paper. The mineralizations are vein types striking N110°E and N70°E, and vertical dip. The hosting rock is a medium-grained porphyritic adamellite with K-felspar as phenocrysts. The mineral association is made up by baryte, which is the main mineral, argentiferous galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and freibergite as accesories, in quartz gangue. The geochemical features of the hosting rock shows that there are no anomaly of barium. Finally, a low temperature hydrothermal origin for the mineralization, probably related with the evolution of the hosting granitoids is proposed in this paper.
