Abstract

The word rimuttu "gift" is documented up to now 17 times in the Middle-Assyrian texts. According to these documents to present a gift (rimuttu) was not only a privilege of the king. Mostly barley, clothes, sheep and oxen were given as a present to palace women, princes, courtiers and workers among others.
