Abstract

This article shows the results of a diagnose made between a group of Social Communication students from the ULA-Táchira about the possibilities of access to the internet, the reading habits in digital media and the preferences about the contents and stile for the online newspaper Vincúlate, a media conceived as laboratory. The findings of the diagnose stage of the project, which was developed as a field research, lead to pointing out that this audience prefers university topics and audiovisual codes from this generation; as well, it detects the high connectivity produced in students outside their homes. The reading habits of the sample studied allow us to characterize it as an audience in which the fast reading about deep reading and that prefers informative genres.
