Abstract
Ludwig von Friedeburg, sociologist and politician, died last May. He was 85 years old. The present text tries to offer some notes on his political and intellectual profile, his long relationship with the Frankfurt's Institute of Social Research and his significance in the tradition of thought of Critical Theory.
