Resum

This study examines the emergency of novel events and factors project based in the expansion market, which seems to announce the end of the price boom occurred between 1999 and 2013, which allowed Venezuela to implement a political – ideological project based in the expansion of public spending. A new market reality is shaping, in which prices will likely decline. The study takes as its foundation the neoclassical economic theory and presents empirical evidence supporting the hypothesis that oil will be a scarce resource, technically peak oil is exceed, at least in short term. The ongoing trend change is explained by the increasing exploitation and marketing of unconventional crude shale gas or oil called shale. The application of sophisticated technologies and probable reserve abundance in developed countries allows the surmision that changes that will come, but certainly they will affect the global economy and national economic and political situation.
