Abstract

Since the events in Ukraine in 2013, a new type of conflict, really or apparently categorized as hybrid, seems to be the new war paradigm. The search response to it leads the formulation of a reflection about the very concept of the war, by a similarity with what happened after the Napoleonic wars. From that reflection is born, largely, Western «classical» thinking about war; and this thought is contrasted with what drives other conflicts, apparently different and widely separated in time, space and culture, such as wars led by Mao Tse Tung and Che Guevara in the first and second half of the twentieth century. From this contrast can be obtained, in the form of final conclusion, that understanding of the war in their essences –has the surname that has-, as stated in the «classics», is the one that allows for the victory.
