Abstract
One of the most common questions in the field of peace studies and conflict is whether a society can be more likely than other to use violence in the management of their own conflicts. Both, studies in sociology and in social psychology developed during the last half of the twentieth century seem to have an answer to this question. This article tries to present it by comparing the findings of Professor M. H. Ross on the results of sociological studies with theories developed in social psychology based on experimentation.
