Laburpena

Alcohol-withdrawal syndrome (AWS) is the clinical manifestation of sudden cessation or extreme reduction of alcohol intake after prolonged periods of excessive alcohol intake. Although benzodiazepines had been used commonly in the alcohol dependence detoxification processes, nowadays new guidelines, mainly those using pregabalin and gabapentin (effective and safe alternative to benzodiazepines), have been developed.
