Abstract
The image is a visual system that conditions the individual and social perception of an era. An image is not a mere denotative representation of the reality that surrounds us, in it lives a series of codes collected by the viewer's gaze to understand and assimilate it. In this system of representation are brought together as-pects that create a true encounter with the realityas aspects that alter it. In the following article the notion of phantasmagor is presented as the phenomenon that alters the image and therefore the view of the spectator. Authors such as Susan Burk-Morss or Walter Benjamin structure the text and help essentially to clarify theapproach offered around this notion.
