Abstract
The present study aims to publicize and disseminate a part of the Greek Civil Code, Astikos Kódikas, specifically the first two chapters of Book One, devoted to the General Principles, and the Conflict of Law rules. In this first part, in addition to an explanation of the 1946 Code, questions relating to sources of law, retroactivity, public policy, capacity, natural and legal persons and the extrinsic formalities of acts are analysed
