Résumé

The concept of fusión mítica is a relevant one in Antonio Prieto’s narrative and critical work. In this article, I try to show that this idea stems from a vision of the world that gives preference to the whole over the parts and the species over the individuals (a vision that can be described as platonic). Before formally creating this concept, this portrayal of the world is analysed in Prieto’s first novels, which were written in the 1950s and 1960s, but already foresees his major and last works.
