Abstract
Idiopathic Ischemic strokes account for approximately 40% of the total and may be associated with people without cardiovascular risk factors, especially in young adults, with one of the possible causes of the phenomenon known as paradoxical embolism. A case of a young adult with subclinical episode left popliteal vein thrombosis in the months after his debut with a stroke. Additional tests showed the association of right hemispheric ischemic stroke, deep vein thrombosis left twin and the existence of a patent foramen ovale.
