Resumen

Burnout is a common syndrome among professionals who work helping others, and nursing is one of profession that su-ffers most. This syndrome involves emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduce personal accomplishment. This syndrome is also an important reason for giving up the career. The World Health Organization is warning of the shortage of nurses because of burnout. Nowadays, the Community of Madrid is undergoing a reform process derived from The Sustainability Assurance Madrid Public Health System Plan, which involves changes in the management business of six hospitals in Madrid. Because of these reasons, a quasi-experimental before and after study has been designed. The main objective is to asses the influence that change in the management business has on nurses’ burnout level who works at the Infanta Cristina Hospital. Results will be obtained through the application of the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Besides some operative strategies has been designed that might decrease the burnout syndrome
