Résumé

This paper is based on the results of the fieldwork conducted in 2013. Teachers who responded had a generally positive perception of the living environment in their schools. But they were also well aware that there are some conflicting circumstances that can leave any student or faculty member in a tense or uncomfortable situation: such us physical appearance and questioning gender roles or sexuality norms. Homophobia and transphobia -perpetrated by a small percentage of students and, to a lesser extent, by teachers- are still present in schools in the form of verbal violence or even physical violence. Males of both groups are often the agents of these attitudes to a greater extent than women (and more victims of the negative consequences thereof). The vast majority of teachers think these situations should not be allowed and they usually have a more radical response the greater the intensity of aggression or violence. However, there are a significant percentage of teachers who cannot or do not feel prepared to deal with the specific situations of homophobia and transphobia in schools. Given this reality, the training appears as a possible solution to make schools a place for integration and diversity.
