Abstract
First of all, this research analyzes the historical data about the relation between physical exercise and medicine. Since the beginning of the medicine, the doctor has used physical exercise as a therapeutic tool in numerous ailments. Then it develops the concept of medicine. Finally, it will analyze the evolution of the specialty in medicine of physical education and sport in Spain.
