Résumé
Speleothems show fluid inclusions which can be used as paleoclimate proxy, as their features depend on the physicochemical and environmental conditions under which they were formed. In this line, their petrographic study arises as a fundamental task prior to any further analysis. This paper shows the petrographic study of the inclusions of two flowstones from Cueva del Cobre (Palencia), which has allowed the recognition of seven types of fluid inclusions according to their morphology (thorn shaped, boudin shaped, elongate, amorphous, oval shaped, pyriform and round shaped), all of them monophasic. It should be noted that elongated and thorn-shape inclusions are exclusively intercrystalline, and the others are intracrystalline. A comparative analysis of these inclusions with those described in non-speleothemic calcites reveals that elongated, amorphous, and oval shaped morphologies are also common in those calcites, but pyriform and boudin shaped inclusions have been never described in previous works.
