Resumen

A lo largo de la historia se han sucedido diferentes contextos en los que ciertas condiciones y acontecimientos han creado oportunidades emprendedoras. Este artículo se enmarca en la segunda y tercera oleadas industrializadoras para analizar el nacimiento y evolución histórica de la industria del transporte urgente, cuyos orígenes se remontan a mediados del siglo xix en Estados Unidos. A través de un razonamiento secuencial, este trabajo determina cómo diferentes contextos históricos crearon oportunidades empresariales, y cómo los emprendedores del sector del transporte urgente las aprovecharon por medio de respuestas innovadoras que, con el tiempo, fueron transformando la naturaleza de esta industria.
