Resumen
The creation of US political parties was deeply influenced by the disputes over the passing of the apportionment bill in 1791-1792, led by Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. Which not only caused major political disagreement between the representatives of northern and southern states, but also created a spill over effect into Washington’s cabinet that ended up with the first presidential veto of US history. Furthermore, this polarization can be directly linked to Jefferson’s departure from the cabinet, and the content of the farewell address. Without fail, these events had a tremendous impact in the shaping of the US political system as we know it today.
