Abstract

This work presents a diachronic dietary study done on the ancient inhabitants of Terrinches (Ciudad Real, Spain). Carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis on human bone collagen were carried out on the archaeological sites of Castillejo del Bonete (Chalcolithic and Bronze Age), Ontavia (Early Medieval) and Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Luciana (Modern Age). The results show that the diet of these three populations was based on terrestrial C3 resources, but existing some slight differences between time periods and amongst contemporary individuals that could be result of diverse geographic provenance.
