Abstract

When DTT was launched, there was doubt as to whether television would continue as public service. DTT meant avoiding the digital divide and bringing citizens closer to technological literacy. This study analyzes the Alcázar Digital DTT project (2002-2010) thought to test interactive applications and to facilitate the access to public information, to training or to businesses. The methodology starts from the empirical work on the reality under study. A second documentary task aimed at locating references on DTT has been developed, especially in the project in question. The available results show clear answers about the contribution of DTT with interactive services, which could be extended to the whole of society: deeper socialization and the breaking off of the digital divide, which would have helped much more at a time of crises such as the one undergone by us, caused by COVID19
