Abstract

On the playground, gender stereotypes are still transmitted and the opportunities to access leisure are conditioned by gender. The objectives of this work were to show an educational experience regarding a transformation of a playground and to assess the extent to which the students and their families were satisfied with such transformation. 145 children and their families answered an ad hoc questionnaire with open and close questions. Also 66 students were asked about their opinion of the playground before and after the intervention. The results show a high degree of satisfaction with the playground transformation and that the students like it significantly more after the change. The families reported multiple benefits, such as a greater variety of games or a better organization of the playground. These results justify the implementation of the project within its context, and that it can be a reference for other interventions.
