Abstract

The forensic place of social work is a desire and a genuine, real commitment. Forensic social work should help people when their rights are affected. Science has its instruments and its particular way of understanding reality. The social sciences occupy a place within the scientific world. The social diagnosis is the reserve of the profession (Lima, 2018) and is the scientific place from which forensic social work evaluates the family realities of people who go to court and report a situation or claim a right. (criminal and civil jurisdictions in the Spanish legal system). In a recent edition, the path from social diagnosis to forensic evaluation was described (Soto, 2019). This article develops the concepts related to that process and specifies them invariables to be evaluated, it does so from documentary studies on those variables and topics to work on. At the same time, the circumstances of the historical moment refer the author to reflections on the state of the forensic discussion.
