Abstract

In Cegador, the first volume of Orbitor trilogy, by Mircea Cartarescu, eroticism is revealed by means of three key aspects, that this article analyzes: city, mother and childhood. The city is a frame where the protagonist discovers the sexuality and it’s also an alive organism capable of provoking erotic desire. The mother, who is the closest person and the most beloved one during the first years of his life, is the target of that desire. Finally, the childhood is the period when these feelings appear.
