Abstract
A point of fulfillment of a decade since the end of the three caudillos that dominated Dominican politics for more than thirty years, a timely result of having been reached by the ruptures and the parties in the party system of the Dominican Republic. With this purpose, the diagnosis that evaluates the level of institutionalization, international democracy and transparency of the political parties in the last five years and whose advances are presented in this work was analyzed. Apparently contradictory scenarios of institutional weakness and electoral strength, the distinctive features that characterize the system in the real stage of democratic consolidation.
