Abstract

Even though the social valuation of environmental assets is a core topic in Environmental Economics, there are still few studies on such asset’s impact on the private benefit of companies. This paper presents a conceptual framework for the measurement of these assets, as well as a summary of methodologies including dimensions such as reputational, innovation management, health benefits, or nutritional, with a distinction between proximity or global impacts. A framework for future analysis is proposed taking as a base the evidences collected.
