Abstract
This study presents the most relevant characteristics that define the construct of psychopathy and the evaluation instruments that can be used. The instruments designed specifically to assess psychopathy, have traditionally shown a bivariate structure, with a factor related to the primary psychopathy, emotional and personal characteristics and a behavioural factor linked to the secondary psychopathy. The main objective of the present study is to analyse the structure factor of one of the most used to measure the psychopathy: Levenson Psychopathy Scale (LSRP), in a Spanish sample of prison inmates. The results of the exploratory factor analysis suggest the existence of three factors similar to those obtained in previous studies. They can support the conceptualization of the construct of psychopathy in three distinct elements.
