Abstract
This paper analyses the implementation of the protection of fundamental rights in the EU by the Italian Constitutional Court. It examines the relationship between the Italian Court and the Court of Luxembourg and the Italian mistrust in engaging in a dialogue between Courts. On the basis of the famous leading cases “Taricco saga” and “Consob”, it looks at how successfully the Italian Constitutional Court has moved forward in the complex framework of the multi-level protection of rights in the EU, against the background of the Strasbourg doctrine.
