Résumé

The prevalence of mental disorders among children and teenagers in the population oscillates approximately 15-20%. Therefore, it becomes essential that children and teenagers have access to primary health care. Paying special emphasis on early interventions. Although the prevalence of selective mutism is 1% approximately, the negative consequences to the self-esteem of the children are considerable when the disorder is not diagnosed. As a consequence, accurate treatment has not been provided. Likewise, this paper exposes an intervention of a case of selective mutism with cognitivebehavioral techniques. In the same way, the magnitude of the therapeutic change is shown throughout the essay with indicators of non-overlapping. The mental disorders that this work focuses on are anxiety and the lack of speech in adults. The treatment is applied to be effective after the measurement of the percentage of data non-overlapped (PND), the data of percentage that do not overlap the medium (PEM) and non-overlapping of all the pairs (NAP).
