Abstract
A detailed structural study was made on the Jurassic rocks cropping out along the cliffs surrounding Ensenada de La Conejera (Eastern Asturian coast). Additionally, a geological section across the whole structure was built via photogrammetric methods. Geologically this locality is located within the extensional Permo-Mesozoic Asturian Basin partially inverted during the Cenozoic. The analysis of the structures (folds, faults of diverse types, joints) present in the hangingwall of two normal faults with opposed dip senses shows that they underwent a later compressive stage. The strength of the deformation in the hangingwall, which has the usual geometry of a rollover, diminishes as moving away from the zones closer to one of the faults; this is reflected by parameters such as the interlimb angles of folds, the fracture intensity and the number of folds and faults present. The good outcrop quality allows the recognition of the temporal relationships between the structural elements and the establishment of a relative chronology.
