Resum

Bahá’i faith: history, spirit, and public projection. A global and local approach is the title of this research work. It is a study of a young minority religion, the Baha'i faith, which was born in Persia in the 19th century and now has a considerable worldwide projection. Therefore, our general objective is to contribute to the Spanish academic world a global vision and a historical synthesis of it, from its origins to the present day. In conjunction with this, a sociological approach in which we can learn about its presence and public projection. This investigation also aims to contribute to the field of Religious Sciences, especially to the History of Religions and the Sociology of Religion.The first objective seeks to make known the historical context of the origin and birth of the Baha'i faith. This has been achieved through the development of the real situation in which Persia found itself in the 19th century, where a desire for social justice and the dynamism of Shiite Islam gave way to the birth of Bábism, from which Baha'ism will originate. Then, we connect with the other objectives, which have to do with knowing the historical unfolding of the different stages of the Bahá'ì faith: from its birth, through its development, to end with its universal expansion. During this process, we have managed to capture the religious experience of the main characters, as well as the communities of faith, as they are fundamental together with the main teachings and ways of propagating this religion, in order to know and understand how they made that leap from being a local religion to be able to expand to different parts of the world...
