Abstract

This paper analyzes current studies on the health of adolescents and adult’s transgender from a gender perspective, taking into account the psychological consequences suffered by people who do not meet the typical standards of the gender. To do this, bibliographic searches are carried out in Psicod oc, PsycInfo and Dialnet databases. We found 14 articles, of which 5 studied health in people of the LGB collective and the other 9 dealt with the issue of health and transsexuality. Two book chapters that addressed the issue of gender and health were also included. In conclusion, LGBT people continue to suffer harassment and discrimination. Thus, the harassment suffered and the denial of their true identity can have negative consequences on the health of these people, so a true normalization of affective - s exual diversity would be a great advance for the population.
