Abstract

This thesis, entitled "Real-time biomedical signals monitoring algorithms for portable low-power devices", has as its main objectives the development of new ECG delineation techniques and continuous and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring for low-power embedded devices. The motivation of this work is the imperative need to fight against one of the most important mortal threats of today's society: cardiovascular diseases. The main ally in the fight against this type os diseases is prevention, which has a promising future through the widespread use of autpatient medicine and the continuous and automatic monitoring of different biophysical parameters of people's health.
