The field of Metal-Organic frameworks (known as MOFs) represents a growing area, novel but already with an outstanding maturity after more than two decades of research. MOFs are materials formed by the combination of metal cations linked by organic molecules, resulting in three-dimensional crystalline structures. As part of Reticular Chemistry, the design and production of MOFshave made possible a new versatile field of research, with wide structural variability whose applications spread over a large range of options: catalyticstudies, gas storage and separation, sensors, water capture and adsorption, among others...
