Abstract

Reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) is an effective treatment option for patients with rotator cuff arthropathy. However, the complication rate is higher than that of conventional total shoulder arthroplasty. Some of these complications are specific to its design and biomechanical behavior. One example is neurological injury in the axillary and suprascapular nerves, which may be related to the surgical approach, screw fixation of the glenoid component, or the non-anatomical design of the prosthesis.
