Resumo

In this work, a study has been made of the life of General Sanjurjo, one of the military men who has had the greatest influence in the history of Spain in the first third of the 20th century. Having been born into a family with Carlist roots, and characterized by many authors as belonging to that political current, throughout his life he was not related to that ideology nor did he maintain close relationships with members of the Traditionalist Communion, except in the decisive final moment, in the conspiracy of 1936. It is exposed, following a chronological order, his military career, his participation in the war in Cuba where he had his first assignment and in that of Morocco, in which he stood out for his leadership skills, strategic vision in the development of the conflict and audacity when facing battles, which allowed him to pursue an upward career reaching the generalate there, in addition to achieving a notable position among his subordinates.
