Abstract

This PhD thesis focuses on the analysis of a wide range of ceramic materials from the archaeological excavations carried out in 2007-2008 in the Alcazaba del Almería. Thematerials were recovered in contexts of special relevance due to their relative stratigraphy and their chronological significance in relation to the associated structures.The ceramics of the Alcazaba of Almería have been studied previously by various researchers. The novelty of this work lies in the fact that the analysis of the ceramic assemblage has been carried out taking into account the stratigraphic record, what had not been possible before due to the lack of stratigraphic data of previous excavations, together with the removals alterations that had affected the conservation of the contexts which made difficult to identify stratigraphic well preserved archaeological contexts of the Islamic period of occupation of the site...
