Abstract

This thesis consists of three monographic chapters, each one dedicated to offering explanations to the following stylized facts of Spanish labor productivity since the mid-eighties: ● Its relative lower growth rate. ● Its relative lower magnitude. ● And its countercyclicality, an anomaly among the countries around us. Each chapter will use the databases and methodologies that are useful for each purpose. The variety of databases includes aggregated data and firm-level microdata. The methodologies are chosen depending on pursued purposes and data availability. For this reason, sometimes some variables are estimated in different ways over the chapters.
