Zusammenfassung

The most common collection identification tools fix staffing, infrastructure, and size rations to establish which institutions appear on their listing. From this characteristic derives the existence of a set of materials, some of exceptional value, absent in the usual consultation indexes, due to the fact that the institution does not meet the necessary requirements. We present a global vision of the ‘forgotten collections’ conserved in non-university educational centers, local museums and other spaces located in Spanish territory that conserved materials of Natural History. All of them are funds of special interest to know both, the scientific activity of their authors, as well as to testify their research work.
