Résumé
The training of teachers is an essential tool for the professional development of the faculty and the improvement of the quality of university education. Nevertheless, it is perceived that the courses offered in the teacher training programs are not responding to the needs of teaching practice, giving more content of teaching-learning activities (design of teaching guides, tutorial action, coaching in teaching, etc.) that refer to competency-based assessment. This qualitative research highlights the importance of diversifying the training offer, focusing attention on training on competency assessment because of the difficulty teachers present in integrating and evaluating competencies in the curriculum. The objective of the research is to know the effect of teacher training on improving competency-based assessment processes, analyzing the key factors that allow an increase in university teaching quality. The methodology used was the indepth interview with the purpose of knowing the experiences and perspectives of the faculty in relation to the training of faculty in relation to the competency-based assessment. The results and conclusions of the study allowed identification of the training needs of Mexican faculty who wish to work the competency-based assessment
