Resum
The concern about migratory movements has existed since the beginning of the very same civilization and, in this peculiar area, the end of the First World War becomes relevant to the extent that it was a particularly convulsive moment in terms of human displacements. Following this approach, it is reasonable to conclude that the aforementioned warfare influenced the adoption of, inter alia, the Convention concerning the Simplification of the Inspection of Emigrants on Board Ship of 1926. We will analyze, then, the aforementioned instrument and we will emphasize the reference made in favor of international norms insofar as it encouraged not only the protection of the most essential rights of migrant people, but also the prominence played by the supranational tools. In relation to this last observation, we will verify the doubtful role exercised by them in the light of the current migratory crisis in which we are immersed.
