Abstract

Descriptive Statistics (DS) is a transversal subject that is taught in various university degrees. This subject can be used to sensitize students to visual disability or the existence of people with low vision. Starting from the campaign «If you underline, I do not read» initiated by the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), we have carried out an activity with university students enrolled in DS at the UCM where the need to preserve books in public libraries to promote reading for everyone was assessed. The objective of this activity is to interiorize the concepts of DS by carrying out a search for underlined books in the María Zambrano library. Finally, the strengthening of knowledge and awareness of disability were evaluated.
