Abstract

Recent archaeological surveys show that in the ancient Mentesa Oretana’s municipium refered by classic sources growed up several villae during Imperial Period, many of them located along Vicarello’s Goblet Roman Road. Puente de la Olmilla, El Calvario o La Ontavia are three examples investigated by archaeologists. The materials founded in their excavations includes pottery, coins, bronze sculptures, bone manufactures, burials, mosaics, hot baths, etc. On the roman site of La Ontavia it’s being developed an archaeological open air museum, in order to favour a strategy of sustainable devolpment of the zone.
