Abstract

The occlusogram is a two-dimensional diagnostic tool of the dental arches. These valuable planning method was forgotten for decades. In recent years, its use became common in planning orthognathic surgery. We propose and explain a range of possibilities in the use of occlusograms, not only as a two-dimensional method, but as a three-dimensional analytical procedure in relation with the three possible cephalometric projections lateral, frontal and horizontal. The aim of this paper is to describe the use of occlusogram in: analysis of dental arches, Bolton discrepancy, occlusal simulations and set-up, individualized archwires and three-dimensional diagnostic and planning in orthodontics and orthognathic surgery.
