Abstract
Violence through and against women is one of the most important violations of human rights. It consists on any kind of violation of the woman personality, of her physical and mental integrity or her movement freedom. In Spain, violence through women has been part of our daily life, violence was settled down and neutralized, and therefore it was hidden and silenced. There are many health professionals who have showed to be interested in this subject and who are aware of the importance of it, however, bibliography shows us how it is really difficult to them neither to detect ill-treatment victims nor to talk about the problem
